The team at EcoTrustTM have developed a vertical business model from production to sales with an industry disruptive biobased carbon capture, utilization, and storage (BCCUS) plastic resin technology platform. This process differs from the more established carbon capture and storage (CCS) process championed by the oil and gas industry, where carbon is captured at source and buried underground.
The driving force domestically in the United States converging to power the rapid growth of this industry is the U.S. Federal Biobased Purchasing Program. Managed by the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), the goal of the Program is to increase the purchase and use of biobased offering like the EcoTrustTM product line . The Program was created by the 2002 Farm Bill, then reauthorized and expanded as part of the Agriculture Improvement Act of 2018 (2018 Farm Bill). The Program’s purpose is to spur economic development, create new jobs and provide new markets for farm commodities. The increased development, purchase, and use of biobased products reduces reliance on petroleum, increase the use of renewable agricultural resources, and contributes to reducing adverse environmental and health impacts.
As global environmental and social issues grow, sustainability—defined as preserving natural resources to maintain quality of life—has become a key focus. Many organizations, including Julian Lennon’s White Feather Foundation (www.whitefeatherfoundation.com) are actively addressing these challenges. Our team collaborates with the foundation to help brands integrate Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) principles into their identity and strategy
